Hi! I’m Jorah,

"Take a breath, as well as you can, and prepare for the careful climb down. You have a long life still to live, and many more mountains to climb." -Noelle Stevenson

Hi! I'm Jorah Bright. My pronouns are she/they. I am a queer second year Secondary Education student at the University of Regina with a major in English and a minor in Social Studies. I'm on the communications team for the Education Student Society.

I am currently the Arts & Culture Writer at the University of Regina newspaper, the Carillon.

I was raised in Kipling, Saskatchewan. My mother is a teacher and my father is a banker. My older sister was often involved in sports, and I preferred the arts and video games. I was inspired to become a teacher because of my grade 12 English teacher who filled her classroom with light and repeatedly portrayed acts of resilience.

My goal is to bring life and love wherever I go, especially my future classroom. I want to light a fire for learning in each student, and teach them how to nurture the flame, so it does not consume them, but instead motivates them.
